What’s it all about?

A new load of books from for my classroom

A social scientist, Hugh McKay says  “every child should be given the best possible opportunity to acquire literacy skills”.  This is something I am passionate about.  Every child should be given every resource available to acquire and sharpen literacy skills from infancy.  Even a child who is unable to read can still be raised in a text rich environment.  At Young Reading Readiness, we feel that parents, caregivers and teachers can sometimes lack the resources that help them encourage their children or those in their care in literacy. is a resource that gives strategies, suggestions, book review and events to help those in care of children from infancy to fifth grade strengthen the skills necessary to be successful in reading.
